Celebrating the Rights of the Child

On January 9thAIESEC KOCHI, part of the worlds largest youth organization, will be hosting 2 events the likes of which Kochi has never seen before: Balakalakaar and Global Village. These events are a small part of AIESEC Kochis Child Rights Project Project Footprints.

All children have the right to play and to have a happy childhood. Balakalakaar is a painting competition that will improve the quality of life of the underprivileged and children living with a disability.
The competition will start at 10 am and will involve children from 9 different NGOs from around the city, such as Janaseva Sisubhavan, Asadeepam and Don Bosco.

The children participating in the event have faced great challenges in their lives. They have been rescued from child labour, child beggary, abuse and poverty.

Global Village CaRniVal

Global Village is a multicultural event, hosted by AIESEC KOCHI, designed to showcase the talents of children from special schools and orphanages. The global aspect comes from the AIESEC interns from around the world who will sell items from their countries at the event. All proceeds will go to special schools and orphanages involved in the event.

Attractions:

• Music, dance and song by local school children and international guests.

• 20 students from around the world will be selling goodies from their home countries and also, the NGOs will be selling products made especially by the children involved in this project.

Support the NGOs who support the children!!

All profits gained will be donated to the NGOs who provide the children with their most basic needs such as; shelter, food, clothing, an education and the a childhood.
