On Monday, June 21, 2010, just six days after arriving in the Port of Houston aboard the "Marina Ace" , my 530 hp 2011 911 Turbo S was delivered to Ed Carroll Porsche in Fort Collins, CO. On Wednesday I drove my 1997 Ferrari 550 down to see it. On the way, I passed nine Wyoming Highway Patrol cars, all doing stops and searches within 12 miles of Cheyenne (including two canine units based in Cheyenne) A source inside the WHP told me it was a training exercise. The Wyoming HP is generally a very cool police force of decent men and women without ego and very professional (I have only one set of stills of their #4 car breaking the law, blocking the left lane to another car, and video of a Laramie trooper violating policy and endangering four cars in the process of trying to "get" me.I wont post that video at the request of a concerned WHP manager). The real pig police of Wyoming are the (Argentina and East German-quality) bastards of the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. They engage in documented telephone terrorism (as written about in email I have from the Wyoming Governor's office) DCI agents also engage in witness tampering (against me when I got evidence of telephone abuse by DCI Deupty Director Kebin Haller) . They have threatened an FBI agent (who busted them in Pinedale) they entrap criminals and tamper with evidence and they have a habit of performing illegal traffic stops on Wyoming highways with unmarked cars, "The biggest problem we had in Natrona County" (was illegal activity by DCI) according to one WHP manager. Because of DCI, I suggest that anyone in Wyoming who gets pulled over by ANY law enforcement officer or plain clothes agent remember that the questions, "Where are you coming from?" and "Where are you going to?" (and any other attempt to get you engaged in "consensual contact"- having nothing to do with why you were pulled over) is a set up that you don't have to answer. Don't be rude or smart ass. But ONLY talk to them about why you are being detained by them. Simply hand them your ID and papers and ask them to stick to the reason they pulled you over. Instruct them to "Please make your statement to the court (ie ticket or warning) and release me from detention ASAP" (the father of a former HP commander- my best friend in high school- was killed at the side of the road and I went to his Dad's funeral.) You tell the cop who's pulled you over that you don't feel safe at the side of the road and you would appreciate a fast processing of a citation or warning so you can both be on your way and both be safe. That will make it clear you're not playing games. But if the Wyoming cop continues to try to engage you in consensual contact, ignore hm/her, don't respond and don't EVER consent to a search of the vehicle (you don't need to explain WHY you disallow a violation of your 4th Amendment rights)- even if he/she says, "Well, it sounds to me like you have something to hide." If he/she then calls for a drug dog or another cop- delaying your release from detention without reasonable suspicion of probable cause, call 911 with your cell phone and document the time and place of your 4th Amendment right being suspended and afterwards, write the Wyoming AG's office (the assistant AG in charge of oversight of the Wyoming Highway Patrol and DCI) or send a complaint to the command level of the local or county police agency in charge of the cop who did a "Wyoming cowboy" on you. ALWAYS remember that Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation unmarked cars (or any off duty police officer in any vehicle in Wyoming) are not lawfully authorized to make a traffic stop in Wyoming- unless you pose a clear (and documentable) threat to public safety. Everybody who knows of DCI- from Wyoming DOT dispatchers to city detectives to lawyers- KNOW that the Wyoming DCI is a corrupt and viscous police agency. Here is documentation of DCI terrorism, threats against FBI agents and witness tampering against myself:

I dedicated the last page of my novel to the scum of Wyoming DCI. "Yes, we're on the same page. You just didn't anticipate I would be writing the book!":

  • You had a radar detector on the Ferrari?

  • @InfinityFofus Valentine One radar/laser locator:

  • I had a 997 turbo and drag raced it what will they do with this? Drive it under 80mph?

    Not even get in boost?

  • @svt283 From turn 11 to turn 2 at Laguna Seca, I hit 140 in boost

  • at what net worth should I feel comfortable in buying this without second thinking?

how much is it to maintain in a year?

    Thanks!

  • @MrJager23x Well, the car cost $165,000, so you can keep your brain engaged around that fact. Tracking the car wore the tires out at 3,000 miles and the $1,200 rear brake pads at 7,000 miles.

Regular driving annual cost, oil changes, brake bleeding, etc maybe $200-400. In comparison, Ferraris cost maybe 50 cents a mile in driving. My 550 has been as expensive as $1/mile in maintenance

  • Congratulations on your new 911 Turbo...the car that I've always wanted since I was 8 years old. I'm 29 years old now and still have no idea if I'll ever own one in my lifetime. =(

Someday, if God permits, I would also video my trip to the Porsche dealership like you did here (and upload it here if YouTube is still existing by that time)...and hopefully I still have lots of hair in my head lol. ;-)

  • @edge160 For half the cost, I'd say the TS
