Homemade Flyback Transformer Driver

Here is my homemade Flyback Transformer Driver. I built it with parts I got from my local electronics store, a CRT Monitor, and a transistor from Digi-Key. I am unsure of the output voltage, however I estimate it at around 7-8 Kv. The MJE13009 Transistor isn't rare, it was just hard to find. Keep watching until the end of the video to see a schematic of the circuit.

@asdwjure You can use other transistors. I'm toying with this stuff myself, and a few of the mistakes I have made have been with resistors and transistors... Start off with 1-watt resistors because I burnt a bunch of 1/4 watt resistors to a crisp. As for the transistor, just rip a few from circuit boards and find their pinouts. Some will work, others wont. Some are voltage regulators that will blow up though too...

What's the pin-out on your transformer?

Why didn't you use one of the transistors from the monitor circuit board?

Do the dials on the flyback transformer do anything?
