The thing about Jon Brion is, he has the ability to see past the acting and faces people portray in their daily lives, and under stands the rhyme and reason of social norms that force people to be who they are. But he uses that understanding to reach out and relate, to the deep down true inner self of the people who listen to his songs talks to you where you're most vulnerable. The part of yourself that you thought only you knew.

@brandoncondo, I don't find it to be sad at all! I think it is hopeful about love. We have our blinders on, feel stranded, etc until you meet that person. "Amidst all the to and fro, someone can say 'hello.' Here we go." It's interesting that we saw two completely different things in this song.

Really a sad song.....you've gotta hope that there's someone for you as strange as you are who can cope with the things that you do without trying to hard. hes got a grasp on reality, the ending really got me. his voice suits the lyrics its kinda creepy but in a good way. i dont know if ive ever related this much to a song before
