Neither The Larks who recorded for Apollo, nor Don Julian's renamed Meadowlarks, this group came from West Philadelphia. 'There Is A Girl', written by Van McCoy, was the second of three singles The Larks made for Jerry Ross's Sheryl label, and was released in 1961. The group survived until 1969 recording for several labels.
