To SamprasisthebestL: Federer wanted to win that title badly. Basel is his hometown. It would have meant a lot of him to win a tournament in front of his home crowd. To come so far to reach the final only to lose the title is pretty hard breaking. This is ancient history though. Federer has since won two Basel titles.
Simple. He is Swiss and wanted to win this tournament badly in front of his home crowd. With Henman taking that away from him, he just broke down. Kinda felt sorry to see him in tears. But with him dominating the tennis circuit now, this is ancient history.
hemnan is NOT one of the greats...good player and fun to watch because of serve and volley but no way on the same playing field as agassi and sampras...sorry
