James Brown continued to tour and perform until the end. So many others his age had retired to sit in a rocking chair, but not James Brown. What makes it more amazing is the level of energy he was expected to expend when he performed. A lesser man would of passed out at the mere thought of performing one of his funk classics. James Brown was more than a living legend he is a true icon. His music and videos are the essence of the man, "Out of Sight".

@onpotomac - Where did you get the 'r&b #5 hit' from? Maybe Cashbox? Billboard didn't have an r&b chart in 1964. They had dropped it and brought it back in 1965.

@PaulDA2000 Yes, it is the chart from Cashbox that is substituted for the time period when Billboard suspended its R&B survey (November 1963 - January 1965).
