Crowd not crow on minute 25:30

1936 - 1939: The Spanish Civil War was the dress rehearsal for what was about to come in Europe in 1939. It was the perfect scenario to test what were the new war machines created by fascist dictatorships which brought Europe to the gates of total annihilation.
This part of human history marks the beginning and the end of a utopia, in a country that suffered under the most fierce fascism, past and present ideals gather here. My love and appreciation for this special episode of time got me to edit and translate this documentary, the history, the ideas, the workers, the organization, and overall the passion of a people that fought with all its heart and strength inspired me to do this work and make it real. Now thanks to this, more people would be able to understand the whole concept of what was the Spanish Civil War, what was that workers wanted and after all what were the reasons that made them lose the war. This material was made to show you why is important to remember these brave workers, these brave men and women who gave their lives for an ideal, the Spanish Civil War shows us all a complete passion for life and freedom as the way it should be.

This documentary was made for the simple purpose of passion for my work and ideas, there is no money and personal economic interests involved. This can be presented anywhere by anyone who really embraces the Anarchist views and/or that sympathize with the idea. For free distribution and discussion, I don't want any credits for this, but I will do appreciate a sincere comment or any kind of appreciation. Thank you.

Special thanks to Carlos Velozo, who helped me to clear some doubts and questions regarding the translation.

Song title. El frente de Gandesa

Si me quieres escribir
Ya sabes mi paradero.
Si me quieres escribir
Ya sabes mi paradero.
En el frente de Gandesa
Primera línea de fuego.
En el frente de Gandesa
Primera línea de fuego.

Si tú quieres comer bien
Para morir en plena forma.
Si tú quieres comer bien
Para morir en plena forma,
En el frente de Gandesa
Allí tienes una fonda.
En el frente de Gandesa
Allí tienes una fonda.

A la entrada de la fonda
Hay un moro Mohamed.
A la entrada de la fonda
Hay un moro Mohamed,
Que te dice pasa "paisa"
Que quieres para comer.
Que te dice pasa "paisa"
Que quieres para comer.

El primer plato que dan
Son granadas rompedoras.
El primer plato que dan
Son granadas rompedoras,
El segundo de metralla
Para recordar memoria.
El segundo de metralla
Para recordar memoria.

Si me quieres escribir
Ya sabes mi paradero.
Si me quieres escribir
Ya sabes mi paradero.
En el frente de Gandesa
Primera línea de fuego.
En el frente de Gandesa
Primera línea de fuego.

English: En el frente de Gandesa (On Gandesa front)

If you want to write to me
You already know my whereabouts
If you want to write to me
You already know my whereabouts
On Gandesa front
First line of fire
On Gandesa front
First line of fire

If you want to eat well
To die in good shape
If you want to eat well
To die in good shape
On Gandesa front
There you have an inn
On Gandesa front
There you have an inn

At the Inn's entrance
There is a Mohamed moor
At the inn's entrance
There is a Mohamed moor
That tells you Come in "Paisa"
What do you want to eat?
That tells you come in "Paisa"
What do you want to eat?

The first meal you have
Are disruptive grenades
The first meal you have
Are disruptive grenades
The second one is made of shrapnell
To remember memories
The second one is made of shrapnell
To remember memories

If you want to write to me
You already know my whereabouts
If you want to write to me
You already know my whereabouts
On Gandesa front
First line of fire
On Gandesa front
First line of fire

  • Según este video contra el fascismo solo lucharon los anarquistas en la guerra civil...sesgado es poco decir. Digna de elogio es su actuación y entrega, pero no olvidemos a todos los demás que dieron su vida.
