http://www.vernissage.tv | The twelfth commission in The Unilever Series at Tate Modern in London has been realized by the Berlin-based artist Tacita Dean. Entitled Film, the work is an eleven-minute silent 35mm looped film projected onto a monolith standing 13 meters tall at the end of a darkened Turbine Hall.

  • What I don't like about this video, is that who ever has filmed it has attempted to make the filming of a brilliant piece of work.. 'arty' there for missing half the bloody film itself. It's an amazing piece of work, it doesn't have to be shot from obscure angles, cutting half the length of the projections off to make it look good.

  • @squibbyjenkins thanks for your feedback, but I don't agree.

  • thanks for yr excellent upload - its arguable a damn sight more interested than the original. i saw "FILM" yesterday in the "flesh", watched it three times + it STILL left me cold though. .funnily emnough i just noticed Rachel Cooke's review in the Observer - new review section 16 oct also felt the same way.technique over actual emotive, intellectual content. now if the Tate wished to commission my project to do something there well..
