In March 2009, Irish Journalist Karen Coleman went to Colombia to investigate how the armed conflict and illegal drugs trade were effecting the Colombians. During her trip she visited the seaport town of Buenaventura on Colombia's west coast. Its strategic location on the Pacific Ocean makes it one of the biggest cocaine export ports in the world. Karen also visited slums on the edges of the port. In one of the slums, she met Fr Ariel Ruiz who's trying to stop right-wing paramilitaries from destroying his neighbourhood.

  • Lololo... It's funny to see how Americans are trying so hard to denigrate the Colombian population and the small towns of this beautiful country. Why don't you make a video of all your red necks consuming cocaine? you have to remember that 95% of the cocaine junkies are in U.S. and Europe so don't try to make a bad image of Colombia (we are not the only ones to blame). Thanks and I'm sorry about my English (it's not my first language).

  • EVERYONE SHOULD JUST FUCKING SMOKE WEED

  • @BDRioga stfu u spic ur country is dirty u guys are only good for ur girls cus they all r whores with big asses

  • well the only good thing i see from the comments below from colombians, is our concern and shame to be associated with mafia; whereas in mexican videos the mexican comment bragging how excited they are to be shown in the news for killing. and they feel better for being more criminal. goes to show the abyss of difference between the two countries, and their level of education and class.

  • @Turbochargedss and do only pure cocaine

  • @BDRioga I am American and have been to Colombia twice now, going my third time in January. My wife is Colombian and I don't believe in the stereotypes that are shown on youtube, Colombia is a beautiful country and have posted many videos on my youtube that show the good side of the country.

  • If weed were legalized and regulated consumption of hard Drugs will decrease. Weed grows everywhere so no need to export illegally! :D

  • cocaine is better then weed but i cannot get it any more as i dont no many people

  • @BDRioga old post--- but such documentaries are made in order to attempt to make people feel sorry for columbians, so that the border may be totally open for other reasons. this way, kind americans will open their doors and churches, etc., and want south americans there. when americans realize that columbians are really very rich, shopping all the time, etc., they get angry, b/c of the propaganda lies shown by s. america and american government (and Irish) the journalist is Irish.
