Trailer for Django (1966)
Note that Taranatino is not doing a remake of this, he only takes the name of the main character, like dozens and dozens of Spaghetti Westerns back in the 60's and 70's.

For any one who saw the Quentin Tarrantino flick, did you notice the original Django star, Franco Nero, in cameo role in it?

There is about 30-40 movies about Django character from various directors and different actors as Django role..This is original , but you have also Django the Bastard, Django Against Sartana, Django - Last Killer etc.. There is even Japan version of Django from Takashi Miike... Tarantino made his version and he gave big respect for original one when he invited original Django (Franco Nero) to be in his movie.. Like you have so many Batman versions you have and Django.. It is not a steal.

Tarantino didn't steal the idea, the idea is Tarantino's work, he called the film Django because he loved the 1966 movie Django!

they call these movies spaghetti western because all the epic movies of this kind were Italian movies. Some of the greatest directors were Segio Leone (the good the bad the ugly, once upon a time in the west), Sergio Corbucci (the great silence, companereos, django), Enzo Barbucci (they call me trinity) and many more. Also Ennio Morricone soundtracks madethese movies even more epic

Spaghetti westerns get their name from the Italian directors. It's a bit racist, really.
