I take you through music, navigation, phone, and car settings. It's an interesting system, that's for sure.

  • great video, best in depth one of the idrive there is.. very imformative, delivery for my 3 series is end of june, i now know how to work the idrive system! thank you

  • This is my favourite of any of the BMW iDrive information videos... not that i sit around all day and watch them...... (cough, cough)

  • Hi, My dad just got an X1 with professional navigation and we can't figure out how to turn the whole navigation screen off, its distracting at night, can you help???

  • damn the idrive is so perfect for me i wish i can get one =D

  • BMW's technology never ceases to amaze me...there is nothing else like it. Is that the about the presets the same in the US?

  • @jdenberg I'm not sure if your question was answered yet, but to use your iPod/iPhone with the car, you need the Y-cable, which is ala carte for $100-ish I think. (it's worth getting ripped off, and the white cable will NOT work.) You could also get the iPhone integrator, where you pop in your phone into a cradle in the armrest. It increases reception by 1-2 bars and allos you to play music. I hope you find this useful. (enjoy your bimmer!)

  • Cool! Thanks for posting this vid-- it's very good and informative!

A question about the BMW Assist Messages...if say a friend sent the car an address, could the car immediately set up a route to the address in the message or would I still have to manually input it? Thanks!

  • I find the iDrive very helpful. Just got my Bimmer and am getting very comfortable with the iDrive system. Navigation is spot on and is quite user friendly. My mom hasn't figured out how to use it though so whenever she borrows my car she keeps calling and asking me how to change radio stations and what not.

  • Michael - for the ipod connectivity as you show it, you need the Y cable correct? Does the Y cable come with the car?
