Here's a quick video lesson on how to play bass to You Shook Me All Night Long by Cliff Williams/AC:DC. This is a good song for beginners to look at, it's relatively simple but there's some interesting rhythmic stuff happening in the tune.

  • Took me about 40 minutes to an hour to get this down and be able to play through completely and I'm a beginner. Thanks so much. :)

  • @JoesMusicalLife Hey joe, thanks for the comment. What I like is the fact that you've taken some action and implemented the lesson and learned something. Keep doing that and you'll make consistent progress - TIP! Always try and find songs that are slightly challenging. That way you'll keep pushing forward.

  • @howtoplaybassdotcom Now that I can play through this I'm trying to learn Warriors of Time by Black Tide. I think that's a challenge enough. Lol Thanks.

  • @JoesMusicalLife Good luck!

  • woooooh slow down im only a biginer

  • @mattyraww Hey dude, use the pause and rewind buttons a lot! That's the easiest way to use the videos.

  • thanx so much

  • @TheBassplayinggoalie He does keep it pumping away in the background - he's the kind of bass player who you only notice when he stops playing. (That's a good thing btw). That quote I think was originally by Garry Tallent talking about his playing with Bruce Springsteen - he's another great example of this kind of solid, supportive player who you only notice when he stops.

  • Thanks for highlighting the work of Cliff Williams of AC/DC. Cliff has never overplayed an AC/DC song and he is one of my biggest influanes because he keeps it rocking by keeping it simple! Thanks Paul!

  • i would like to learn how to play Dr. feelgood by Motley crue
