Emily Receives a Double Lung Transplant

At a young age, Emily DeArdo was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. This condition left Emily in the intensive care unit with frequent lung infections, and it soon became evident that she would need a lung transplant. When a donor was found, Emily became the first patient to receive a double lung transplant at Columbus Children's Hospital, and she is now living a happy, healthy life.

Hey, I'm 26, I have CF and I live in Poland. I have 28% FEV1 in spirometric test and I have a big destruction at my liver. My doctor says that i need lung and liver transplant but not yet. Do you know anybody who had such lung - and liver - transplant?

I am 25 and have CF and I get mistaken for a high school student frequently. It's a tough disease to live through and I am so happy that she got her lungs and her life back! She still has CF but just not in her lungs anymore!
