The text of Weep No More is an adaptation of the poem Fairy's Song by John Keats. Composer David N. Childs is a native of New Zealand and is currently Assistant Professor of Choral Studies at the Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Gentle but yearning dissonances are heard throughout the piece, both rich in the four part harmony opening and in the haunting repetitions of "Weep no more, O weep no more." This piece is sung here by the Madison Youth Choirs (of Wisconsin, U.S.), Lisa Kjentvet, conductor, April Kang, pianist, and was performed at First Unitarian Society Church in the concert on May 3rd, 2009, Songs for a Small Planet, Hearing With the Heart performance, Choir Capriccio.
