There's another one (on YouTube I think) in Leicester U.
I heard an explanation of the name as "cars continally moving looked like telling rosary beads." I wonder if the more likely explanation might be "you'd better say a paternoster when entering or leaving the car."

They should install 'smart lifts' like in the tower at Nottingham Trent University. They're really cool and much safer than these old fashioned types.
