Why did this get upvoted, he clearly thought that the defender was going to challenge his shot before he jumped so he already predetermined that he was going to switch hands during the layup. The defender never actually jumped but he had a reason to switch hands, the defender was in a position to block that shot.

This was back in the 90s when no one did flashy moves like today, where there was no one like Kyrie Irving or Jamal Crawford crossing players or players doing 360 dunks like it's nothing. This was pretty impressive back then because no one did this stuff. Now it's normal for everyone to be flashy and show off in the league.

The most unnecessary and beautiful double clutch shot ever.

Lol he wasn't saying this was against the blazers. He was responding to another poster who said, "This was 1992." He was correcting him by saying this play was actually in 1991 - 1992 was against the Blazers.

True, but the fact that it happened in the Finals is what made it so famous. Jordan's best move was his layup against the Nets in 91 I believe. That's probably the most underrated play in history - it's definitely better than this one, although this one is still pretty cool.

Not really, Lebron's wasn't nearly as impressive on that play.

Why didn't he just dunk it? He could have easily dunked it. I would have dunked it. I've dunked many such shots. And will do so again.

The defender on his right was bringing his hand up to block. By the time Jordan switched hands, the defender had already brought his hand back down. Watch it again.
