  • @gbruno01 at around 0:46 there is a post on the side of the car that looks like to be supporting that car so it dont flip

  • @corvetteboy10 hmm, you're right. I looked further into it and couldn't find that that is what the post is used for, but you may be correct.

  • @gbruno01 my dad researches these crash tests, he said its to support the camera and lights that film the accident

  • @smashingrocks1 sounds right to me!

  • do they put something on the side of the cars so they dont flip?

  • @corvetteboy10 not to my knowledge. In fact, some cars from the 90's have flipped in this test or a test similar to this one!

  • Ugly, but safe.

  • @gbruno01 read the comment above from smashingrocks, its to hold up the camera and the lights that film the inside of the crash...

  • JUNK!

  • that post on the side is probably to keep the car from flipping because if it flipped they would get reading from the dummy on the side crash and it would not be accurate BUT they are testing the vehicle and if it flips that is what happens. OR the post is a CAMERA.

  • because if you look closely at 0:46 , there is a light on the side of the car for the camera's... that's what the stand is holding up

  • @corvetteboy10 actuallly, since my dad works in that research, i asked him, and he said, it keeps the high speed camera's from falling when the car is struck... :), but i thought the same thing when i first saw it
