On November 26, 2008, during some downtime from the Triple Crown of Surfing, legendary surfer Randy Rarick rode a 13-foot wooden board at Sunset Point. Board was shaped by Roy Stewart of New Zealand. Video by Banzai Betty Depolito; music courtesy Suva.

.. . . Rarick just wanted the board to fail and wanted it off Oahu, a group of locals surfed the board just prior to him getting hold of it and according to North Shore surf photographer Scott Hartvigsen the word was out on the grapevine that it is a really good board and people were lining up to ride it. . . . then Rarick did his nasty bit of work and that was it. . .. I was warned not to trust him by someone who had dealings with him but was sucked in by his fake 'Aloha' BS

Randy is either extremely stupid or is deliberately doing a 'hatchet job' on the board. He has no right to judge it after such a ridiculously incompetent attempt. The board is designed to be ridden from the sweet spot area in the middle of the board not back on the pintail. It is almost impossible to ride the board the way he's trying to do it from back on the tail. We explained this in detail to rarick LOTS of other people have had great things to say about this board after having ridden it
