May 8, 2008: NS 098 takes 10 MRS C38EMI locomotives to Penn Terminal to be shipped to Brazil. NS 9507 leads MRS C38EMI 3956-2, MRS C38EMI 3959-7, MRS C38EMI 3963-5, MRS C38EMI 3962-7, MRS C38EMI 3965-1, MRS C38EMI 3964-3, MRS C38EMI 3960-1, MRS C38EMI 3957-1, MRS C38EMI 3958-9, MRS C38EMI 3961-9. MRS (Malha Ferrovia da Regiao Sudeste) Logística S.A. uses a 5 foot 3 inch gauge railroad, and the trucks on the locomotives are temporary. NS 098 passes a gang installing ties, as you can see, nice horn from both crews! ENJOY!

The MoW crews were joking around on the radio? "what does MRS stand for?" "Moron Rail Service?" "Well somebody said maybe Mexican Rail Service..."

  • nice tran love the mrs units they from the emd?

  • No, made in China and assembled by GE at Erie.

  • why were there 2 gondolas at end and after NS 9507??

  • Buffer cars. They do this to special moves and ethanol trains to allow space between oncoming trains, just incase something were run into the train at an excess of speed, for example, the locomotive hooking up to the train accidently coupled above the 4 MPH limit.

  • Was that your car horn in the beginign or the MOW?

  • MoW, some sort of 2 chime horn.

  • wow, amazing! they look just like Dash9's!

  • I'll say this, even if these locomotives are made in China, they look as if they are of extremely good quality. Contrary to most people's opinions, not all products from China are crap. I've bought several products made in China that are of very good quality. :)
