How to fix expensive apple in ear headphones MA850g

These have good sound clarity but lack bass and mine broke. The mic and volume stopped working. This video shows how to swap the cable and mic over with a new set from the standard set which are the same.

Oh btw, the left speaker dies not have a green and red cable, it has a red and orange... How do I solder them? Red on the same place and orange in the place of green? Thanks

Very glad I saw this, I was about to just cut the wires to do the earpiece swap. This method is much cleaner. I highly recommend taking close up photos of the earpiece wires before de-soldering them just to be certain you put the wires back on the correct way round. Also just to be clear right ear has red/copper wires, left ear has green/copper wires.

I used a pair of helping hands from Maplin as this is quite tricky. Once done they worked like a charm.
