  • do you freehand sketch out the line drawing with the mouse or scan it in ?

  • trackball only

  • Awsome, how do you somehow magically trace out the path though?

  • Don't think, Feel!

  • Yeah dude, even though this has been a month ago. Don't spazz out for your loss of knowledge.

  • Dude, you don't need an eraser for Vector-Based programs, just simply re-shape, size, or delete the lines.

  • Wow. Why don't you just LEARN how to draw!

  • すごいです。

  • So basically, what you do here is using inkscape to vectorize a bitmap? Cool idea, didn't think of that.

  • you can go "Path" then "trace bit map" and then play with the tool on the number of colors and such!!

  • lulz, tracing.

    lrn2draw fgt

  • Right on. SVG makes so much more sense than raster formats for animé, and it's not hard to trace.

Tip: duplicate the outline, give it a huge blur (30-50 usually). Duplicate the fill, and use it as a clipping mask for the blurred outline. Gives you nice shading. :-D (Heavy blur takes FOREVER to render though... you can put it on a separate layer and turn it off when you work on other things.)

  • Those never work properly. >.>

  • I made an 8 step tutorial on creating a simple Inkscape design. took me 4 hours to make it, and im hoping it can help someone trying to learn the basics of Inkscape. This tutorial is for complete NOOBS though! for people trying to learn the basics of INKSCAPE.

it's the lastest post on there. you can't miss it's titled : "Inkscape tutorial for noobs"

  • GTK doesn't stand for GIMP Tool Kit, it stands for Gnome Tool Kit.

And you can usually count on real issues like this being quickly fixed with Open Source. Inkscape runs well on my Windows machine, haven't had a problem with the GTK elements.
