Belly dancer, Frederique, exhibits quiet sensual energy to the amazing world music sounds of dj Cheb i Sabbah at his cd release promotional for La Kahena in 2005 at Amoeba Records in Berkeley California.

  • Well shut my mouth! Who'd a thunk? You're correct!! ... that's him alright at 03:43. Bravo, Senor Mezclanero.

  • Shoot! I wish I was such a purist. It was very nice energy that day as I recall ... I guess you jus had to be there. Anyhow ... please continue on ... I'm sure there is something worthwhile to learn here ...

  • Yeah erm I Wonder why they're not famous lol :|

  • Does anyone know the name of the track (or tracks) Cheb starts mixing in at 0:53 and goes through 2:21? I'd love to have that song in my collection. The combination of the dub-ish style bassline with the vocal phrases over top is just beautiful.

  • News flash, American tribal fusion style dancers are American. They're not Algerian, and they're not trying to be. American tribal is its own evolving style, and they're doing it properly. Chill.
