  • The future nfr cowboys!!

  • @quarterflash1133, wtf does wild horses starving have to do with this? You must be confusing me with the Cloud Foundation. Which I have nothing to do with. CAREFUL management got your horse laid off for how long was it now???? 6 YEARS? Wow, just a little tough on your beasts, aren't you.

  • @quarterflash1133, that's hilarious, calling me the bully, meanwhile you cannot answer the question with any honesty. Only 8 seconds at a time! How kind of you, to only torment them for that long! Why then, do endurance horses NOT gape their mouths? Racehorses? Jumpers? Eventers? Steeplechasers? Not ONE of those sports ever sees a horse running around with his mouth gaped. Not ONE. And yeah, those horses exert themselves a lot more. They are not tormented into "work", though.

  • @AnimalLeftist .... EFFORT. We call it EFFORT. Bucking is unlike any other sustainable activity horses do ..... it's also why we only allow them to do it for 8 seconds at a time. It's called CAREFUL MANAGEMENT. Go make sure wild horses are starved and eaten by wolves as 'Nature Intended' and let the little kids alone. Jeez ..... bully.

  • I'll add this to Junior Equestrian Magazine's website if possible- we'd love to have some young people in the western & rodeo world join our team of Jr Contributors as writers, bloggers, reporters, photographers, videographers, etc. Thanks!

  • Heard yet another common misconception about horse behaviour, from a rodeo lover. It is considered normal for a horse to gape his mouth. It means they are happy! Horses run with their mouths open all the time! Broncs ALWAYS have their mouths open when bucking (a clear sign of stress/fear/overwork). Some DVM's even say this., "If your horse is panting or open mouth breathing, you need to try to cool him down and contact your veterinarian immediately." Funny, huh?Funny Peculiar, not Funny hah-hah.

  • Awesome, I hope they have the pony bronc riding again at cowpunchers. My son's favorite sweat shirt is his red Tom Butler one.

  • love the kids and love watching them in the shetland bronc riding!
