This is a sketch from the Doctor Who Night, shown on BBC2 in September, 1999. It stars David Walliams and Mark Gattis. I apologise for the sound quality, but it was recorded on an already failing video recorder and tracking doesn't seem to help. It gets better as it goes along though.

  • a cosmic hobo!

  • Lol! Especially when he starts singing the theme at the end and the creator's like "What was that?". Lol, thanks for posting!

  • The show was an original until about 1978, when it was turning into "The Tom Baker show". After that it was a parody of itself and just a vehicle for gay activism. Not against gay activism per se, just that the show itself went from being renown for being a children's show with excellent writing to being renown for being the worse, most campy show in tv history.

  • Okay, clueless American here... Is it just me, or does footage of that horse puppet (or one like it) show up in "The Idiot's Lantern" on one of Magpie's TV's? That's a Mark Gatiss-written episode, so it seems possible.

  • @rory215 "Write them theme tune, sing the theme tune..."

  • Gatiss later remarked upon watching the original broadcast of these sketches that, as soon as he heard that line again, he instantly regretted it and knew it had been a mistake. He didn't intend to be so disrespectful to any of the "Who" actors, he just made a poorly-judged joke.

  • lmao

  • love this ! never fails to make me laugh. brilliant.

  • awesome.

    2:04 LOL
