The basics of FileMaker 11.

Searching for Data with Find. In this video we go over the essential skill of searching for your data. Looking for records is one of the most powerful and useful aspect of your database. There is no reason to organize all of the data if you can't find it!

When you use Find, FileMaker searches through all records in the current table. The default behavior is to look through the records with a "Begins With" mentality.

Two different ways to search. The logical AND and the logical OR options. The AND search you have to fill in two fields, or use the Constrain Found Set. The OR search you have to perform two searches, or use the Constrain Found Set with your second search.

Make sure you are searching for the correct data type of the Field you are looking for. FileMaker will throw an error if you do not.

This is part three in a very long training series, brought to you by LebonTech Solutions.
