I tested this car yesterday. I drive the new GTI, and to be honest, I didn't find the R worth the extra cost compare to GTI. I could feel extra 15hp, not 50hp! (although, I guess it was running on 87 octane gas). I've installed Cold air intake on my GTI and I'd say mine feels as fast as the R. The ride feels different because of the AWD. But I'd definitely keep my GTI!
