RTW Voice Commentary #04 Me (Seleucids) vs Ace Blazer (Greek) 1 out 3

one word...EPIC

My first game against a fellow commentator! Ace Blazer was a good opponent to face and he also gave me my first loss to the Greeks.......grrr.....oh well.

Very fun game with me doing a lot of errors (opps....)

I'm impressed by his abilities with cavalry. And about guard mode... man. Never in my life after seeing that helpless massacre. I've never seen a phalanx melt so fast, even with militias against Royal Pikes (it was similar, but you get the idea) I really enjoyed this battle. Keep them up man!

yah i was pretty annoyed by the fact my pikes melted since historically i think my phalanx troops would be far more superior to the classical greek phalanxes since the hellenistic phalanx used a longer spear and larger ranks.

Ace did a great move luring the Cataphracts into his line. Then the cataphracts were surrounded, although not being attacked, and just broke.

yah i was so caught off guard by how well he used is cavalry that i didn't expect him to run his cavalry into his own line to screw me over =P

Cheers! In the beginning I threw away those cav because I was kind of hoping to give my archers extra shots but that didn't work out. Also my main component was obviously the infantry: I didn't care as much for the cav who were meant only to harass.

That was what I was trying to do, but when they didn't run I knew they would get shot up so I just charged trying to do at least some damage.
