Jemi Story Episode Six.

[Demi arrives home]
Alice: *crying on the couch*
Demi: *sits next to her and gives her a hug*
Alice: I'm sorry, mom.
Demi: Honey, there's nothing to be sorry for. Nothing was your fault.
Alice: But you warned me, time and time again and I just made the same mistake you did. Mom, what if I'm pregnant?
Demi: *pauses* That would be your choice what you do if you are pregnant, but just know that I'm going to support you through every choice that you make. Tomorrow morning we'll go to the hospital to check, okay?
Alice: *nods* Thanks, mom. I love you.
Demi: I love you, too, baby.
[With Joe]
Joe: *standing by the window overlooking the driveway; a car pulls up*
*a knock on the door*
Joe: *answers the door and gives 'Dave' a man-hug* Good to see you, man. *closes the door and pushes him inside* You have a lot of explaining to do, Nicholas.
Nick: It wasn't me, I swear!
Joe: *pushes him down on the couch and sits opposite him on another couch* Start at the beginning. What happened?
Nick: Well, we were at the diner, and a big group of guys came over to us. They were harassing us, and trying to... touch her. So I got all defensive, and they turned on me. They had me cornered. They had guns... Everyone else in the diner had run out except us. But she crept up behind them and stabbed one of them, the biggest one, in the back with a knife from the table... So the rest of them... they were gonna hurt her! So I distracted them while she ran out. I had to protect our baby... I was running to my car, and one of the guys grabbed me and spun me around. He pointed his gun to my head... the next thing I knew, three of the four remaining guys were dead... she killed them. The other one, the youngest, from the looks of him... he couldn't have been any older then thirteen... he panicked and called the Police, so we had to get out of there fast.
Joe: *hardly shocked by his story* What did I tell you? I said all along she's bad news. What about Danny?
Nick: It wasn't safe for him. The young kid got together with another gang -- a much bigger one. The kid wants us dead. And the Police want her for manslaughter.
Joe: But, wasn't it self defence?
Nick: *nods* But they don't know that. The cops think the gang are trying to help them.
Joe: *shakes his head*
Nick: So where is he? My son.
Joe: *just looks at him*
Nick: I know he's mad at us, but what choice did we have?! We did it for his safety... I didn't want to do it, she did. But she's his mom, she knows what's best for him...
Joe: *sarcastic* Yeah. That's why she murdered people. It was best for your baby.
Nick: Shut up.
Joe: He's upstairs.
Nick: *his face lights up* Can I see him?!
Joe: *nods*
Nick: *grins and runs up the stairs, two at a time*
