'Il Divo' are not a 'band' in the pure sense....THEY ARE Simon Cowell's CREATION!!!! For people who think they like opera but probably COULDN'T BEAR 1 minute of the real thing! Virtually any 4 attractive classically trained singers would have done. 'Blake' is just as good vocally, but don't have the billion-dollar Sony packaging and production values. But they at least sought each other out and built their own act from scratch! There is something sweet and human in that! I wish them well!

for goodness sake! They aren't trying to be Il Divo. They're a classical crossover band, what image are they supposed to go for?
Il Divo has a distinct sound, very specific harmonies, created by Simon Cowell to meet the interest in classical crossover music.
Blake started singing together because they sounded good. They're independant, and their harmonies sound more 'organic' particularly in adapting to the repertoire they choose. Theres a warmth to their tone. It doesn't have to be either or!
