SPN S05E08 "Changing Channels"

While investigating a weird homicide apparently executed by the Incredible Hulk himself, Sam and Dean are trapped inside Dean's favorite TV show, "Dr Sexy M.D.". They suspect the Trickster of being a reason for it and try to confront him. Sam suggests, to a refusing Dean, that they convince the Trickster, who likes the earth and toying with its inhabitants, to help them end the Apocalypse. The Trickster, having been disguised as Dr Sexy, agrees under the condition that the brothers survive the following 24 hours. Since being trapped in "TV Land", Sam and Dean have to endure numerous TV formats, including a Japanese game show, CSI: Miami and situation comedy. Castiel tries to save them, but is sent away by the Trickster. The brothers soon grow tired of the Trickster's sick sense of humor and confront him again. However, bearing Castiel's warning in mind that a demi-god couldn't possibly be powerful enough to bring off something like this, they prepare a trap made of Holy Oil, which is able to capture an Archangel. The Trickster is revealed to be the Archangel Gabriel, who voluntarily fell from Heaven a few years ago. He wants Sam and Dean to agree to Lucifer and Michael, respectively, in order to end the Apocalypse and restore peace in Heaven, as he's tired of the endless fighting. Gabriel also states that the brother's roles in the Apocalypse have been decided all along, as Sam once rebelled against his father while Dean remained obedient, clearly resembling the heavenly conflict.
