@miss09aip Yet she remembered enough to falsely identify those men.... and let them go to trial for a crime she knew they didn't committ..... I have a hard time sympathizing wit' her.... she owes them an apology... and bein' a rape victim doesn't mean she is exempt from that....
@UrbanEsta she was beaten so bad that she lost 75% of her blood, had multiple fractures to her skull, one in which knocked her left eye out of it's socket. She was in a coma and wasn't even suppose to live. So no, it is not surprising that she has no memory of the incident.
@Dav68Chs I'm sorry... even though she was raped.... I'm still side eyein' the hell outta her.... she can't remember that ONE man raped her???.... and let FIVE innocent men that she know didn't rape her.... go to jail for a crime they didn't commit???.... rape is a traumatic experience... and I'm pretty sure rape victims remember every single detail of that experience... so sorry if I don't buy her BS about not remembering who raped her... she owes those men an apology as well....
And, the book is about her not those who went to prison. The men who went to prison went based on circumstancial evidence, I am assuming. Certainly she did not have anything to do with the conviction of them. It is horrible that those men went to prison wrongfully convicted (of this crime)based on outrage in the city and a rush to close the case.
Why should she take any blame? And it was not 'her crime'...she is the victim. She made nothing up because she could not remember anything therefore she did not have anything to do with the men going to prison, how could she if she has/had no memory of the crime. Her book is obviously based on what she went thru after the crime and finding out what happened to her. They could have told her she was in a car crash and she would not have known.
they mugged other people. If you think that someone who mugs someone else deserves the same punishment as someone who raped, beat, and almost killed someone, then you've got no sense of right and wrong.
I read her book. Not once does she mention the five innocent people who went to jail for her crime. Soyrizo (soyrice?), there was alot of lies that were said about the five men. Where's your proof? I lived in NY at the time, I never heard that being said about them.
Even if it is true, does that mean they deserve to go to prison for a crime they did not commit. You have a messed up view of the world. She can't remember anything so how did she identify the five men as her attackers?
What a horrible interview. Why didn't Viera ask if she felt that the innocent people sentenced for her crime should get sympathy for the tumoil they went through? Also, is the lack of rememberance of the crime in question due to the fact that she made it up since she can't explain how five people went to prison for the rape instead of just one person.
Too bad those five young men were innocent after spending all of their teen years and early twenties in prison all because the court ignored the fact that the seman found didn't match either guy.

weak interview with such an interesting character. vierra asked totally recycled questions that we've heard a million times.
