This video should be called 'how to ruin a lovely old Trangia stove'. Look what you've done to it!!! I really can't see why. It's not that much quicker using wood.

I tried mine with wood as well. It don't look too good.

@TheBeebopper Thanks for your comments. I believe that the stainless version of this cookset also has an ally windshield/potstand... So I am currently coming up with a hobo style cookset, that would elliminiate any worry of "melting" the trangia stove wind shield. Thanks again for your comments...
little tip that will help all you bushcrafters!
make a paste from water and washing powder and smear it on the underneath of your pans, this is dead easy to clean and doesn't allow the fire to scald the pot or leave the dreaded black soot which is sometimes a bitch to clean.

Hi there, next time turn the wind shield upside down so the air holes are at the top, so you then have a circle at the top for pots or pans for cooking on, this enables you put allot more twigs/fuel into the wind shield and you can keep warm using it as a fire and it will last longer the fire for cooking, great review tho, ps there is stainless steel swedish army trangias on ebay now, but not many about 5 left at a store in ormskirk liverpool.

Seems to make sense to me, although I thought there was a steel bodied cooker so as to take the wood heat without worry. I look forward to your next vid on the topic. As well as burning a batch loading of twigs, you could try the compressed wood chips and oil firestarters for a regulated heat from the start. Would bangers and mash and a cuppa be too difficult from a single load burn?

@TheBeebopper Bangers and mash sounds great, maybe I'll take you up on that and do a video... thanks for the comment...
