Tannerite consists of two components, a sensitizer and a bulk material. The bulk material is a mixture of 85% ammonium nitrate and 15% ammonium perchlorate, while the sensitizer is a mixture of 90% dark flake aluminium powder, 5% Titanium and 5% zirconium hydroxide. Even if you were being shot at by a Desert Eagle it still wouldn't go off. Pistol ammo doesn't travel fast enough to set it off. I think it needs to be over 2000 FPS, so most pistols with the exception of the Five-seveN would do it.

Reckless endangerment of human life, the explosive may be perfectly legal (unless 8 pounds is over the limit for your state) however if the cop deems that you were causing the above, disturbing the peace, etc. People get arrested for just about anything, don't put it past a cop. I know someone who did a few months in jail for setting his gun on the dash to ward off a aggressive driver(he didnt point, it was unloaded, just set it on the dash). So don't get so angry I was just having fun...lol

@THEOZ2106 We bought it at a local sports shop.. it's a 2 part system, illegal to transport while it's mixed but perfectly safe and legal before mixing.. the only way to set it off is with a high power firearm.. 308 or 50 cal.. so it won't explode in your hands unless your being shot at with a desert eagle..
