A trio of short-shorts features collaged and remixed readings by George Oppen -- specifically, from A Narrative and Of Being Numerous (Sections 1-22) -- from his late career, juxtaposed against Billy Bitzer's haunting early footage of the New York City Subway system, shortly after opening in 1905. Busby Berkeley's muse (and mine) Ruby Keeler makes a short appearance of archival fanstasia, set to remixed themes from 1964's Jason and the Argonauts, and then Oppen reappears, setting his blistering eye to narration of a short scene from SyFy's thoroughly dispiriting Mega-Piranha (2010). Editing and remixing by Brandon Downing. Premiered at the November 6th, 2010 installment of Poetry Time, with readings by Geoffrey Nutter, Rebecca Wolff, and Crystal Curry.
