also you say you need to desolder the contacts of the CMOS which is half the size of a CMOS.

Or, you can get off your lazy ass and open the computer case, and pull out the Complimentary Metal Oxide Semiconductor battery. And yes, you can do the same in laptops, you just need to de-solder the contacts to the battery, which is half the size of a regular CMOS battery.
