@Stuntpussy13 Yes. Season 4 did have a different feel compared to Season 3. Seasons 1-3 did have a more similar or continual flow or feel. I noticed that Season 4 still had some similarities to previous seasons but defintely when Season 5 arrived the show had lost its original essence. I think Lucy Lawless and her Xena character getting pregnant changed the dynamic of the show as well as the change in chakrams and Gabrielle with her short haircut and there were a lot of different characters.

k so there was a video made with this same type of footage only music from an anime show with a woman or two singing. i remember the note saying cowboy beep bop or something. then the music changed and was something like from lord of the rings. it was beautiful music but then the video was removed does anyone know who made the video or what the songs were? The video was called something like The Crucifiction

so sad, but well done
That was supposed to be the end (The Ides of March). As you know, this final chapter is the ideal one for a 'gran finale'. It had no sense to be continue on Season 5 and 6. As told before, Xena lost the real essence.

@wiccario This was a great cliffhanger episode and yes there is a nice feeling of 'finish' about it. But if Xena did finish on Ides of March, then there would be no awesome episodes from season 5 and 6!!!! :D

I do not know if it is me but I feel that after Season 4 the show began to take on a different type of essence or character. Season 1-4 had a similar essence if you will. Also the chakram changed too. Who knows? LOL

I would have to agree and even take it further by saying that I think Season 4 was where the show changed. Season 1 - 3 (for me at least) had a very familiar tone and then Season 4 was a massive change in pace for characters especially. And to add to that, I think Season 5 - 6 were in another league on their own. Very different show from what it started out from definitely.
Thanks for the comment :)
