@PitPat23 You bring up a good point, one that has plagued mushers and fans alike for many years. Consider this: if you were say, 20 pounds overweight, (and therefore, not thin and lithe) would you be able to run up three flights of stairs? Not likely. If you look at a human marathon runner, you'll see that they have a low body fat %, but they are toned and healthy. Sled dogs must be kept at that healthy weight too. When it gets really cold out, we give them insulated doggie jackest to help! :)
