Topless America Trailer

For the past two years the Topless America team has worked to document the grassroots movement against mountaintop removal mining in Appalachia. Weve met amazing individuals such as Maria Gunnoe, Terri Blanton, Larry Gibson, and Ed Wiley, who are willing to stand up against their neighbors and family. Weve also met accomplished politicians such as Representatives Danny Davis, Frank Pallone and Senator Dick Durbin. Weve seen the beauty of nature in the worlds second most bio diverse forests and weve seen the horrible destruction of a bald mountain. Weve learned a lot along the way; about activisms role in todays government, about greed the cause of mountaintop removal, and about the bravery to stand up against things we know to be wrong.

@thequietkid10 mountaintop removal is a good thing, it's needed to create more usable land. Hard to build a nice new bed bath and beyond on top of a hill, once it's flattened a bit it's easier to grow a region.

I agree with you about the need for nuclear power.

But, the vast majority of people who care about Mountain Top Removal (living outside of Appalachia) ARE Hippyfags.

Maybe the best solution would be force the democrats to put a permanent 20% tax on all of those living in Boston, NYC and SanFran and give it out to the people in Appalachia. Plus those people on the coasts are polluting the oceans! Hell no one should be allowed to live near the oceans according to some Democrats like Nader and I agree.. tax everyone within 50 miles of an ocean 20% of their income and 5% of the property value yearly and give it to Appalachia and the ghettos.

Kentucky democrats TAX land that has coal so people have to harvest the coal or pay the tax. End the coal tax that punishes the poor and people wouldn't feel forced to pull it all out of the ground

I'm gonna buy some land just to remove the coal when the liberals push energy prices high again : ) It's hippyfags that whined about nuclear power in the 1970s so now coal is the only cheap option. Hippies hate nuclear plants so who cares about hippies... let them eat falafal and bang on their bongos
