  • SLENG DEN DRITTEN PÅ LAND OG GRAV DEN NED! OPPDRETTTSFISK OPP I MENTE. OM DU SPISER DENNE FISKEN FÅR DU I DEG DE STØRSTE ANTALL TUNGMETALLER SOM OVERHODET FINNES I FISK I NORGE

  • @Flyfisherman1962

  • beautiful chars!! did you troll? why you use short rods like this? guess we use a similar system in switzerland for char and lake trout - spoon and single hook with natural bait is that the way you rig? reat fishing and vid! 4 stars!

  • Sorry for the immensly late reply..

No, we do not troll.. we fish as if we were fishing from the ice... but as this water never gets ice we use boats :)

The lake ususally doesn't freeze during the winter, so they are fishing with the same equipment and in the same way as they would on the ice.

The surface water is usually a little too warm to the fish's liking, so they tend to go on the bottom, well out of reach for regular trolling equipment.

  • Not always

  • Joda. Det er derfor røya i skogseidvannet er så feit. Er ingen andre steder i norge de blir så feite, og merdene er det eneste som skiller skogseidvannet fra andre røyevann

  • Fish bred in fish farms are usually not fed that last month or so before slaughter, so they can get all toxins that they have been given through their food, out of their system. Fish caught in the wild that have fed on spills are not that easy to rid of these toxins. The toxins that I am speaking about are rests of medicines given to the fish as vaccine in their food, or through medicine baths. One of my friends is a vet for the fish farms.

  • I know that they don't, still the Char feed on spills from the fish farm. Naturally it is fun to catch these fish because of their size, though as both I and my friends who have fished in this lake know, then these fish don't put up much of a fight compared The arctic Char found in the far away hidden lakes of northern Norway.

  • But in Skogseidvannet, they do NOT farm Char..

  • Wrong again.... The fish that grow to such immense sizes do stay around the hatcheries all year around. They are often caught with their bellies full of fish food. Farmed fish are usually not fed the last four weeks before slaughter because of all the additives in their food. These additives are not growth hormones, but usually medicine, and vitamins. The reason for the fish growing so fast with fish food is all the fat added to the food.

  • Wrong. Farming Arctic char for food is very common in Sweden, and it has been done in Norway as well. I have personally participated in such work....
