Another fun demo of the great shadow viewer from http://my.opera.com/boylane/blog/show.dml/3110952

To create a soft flashlight beam I uploaded a black texture with a white fuzzy circle to create that effect. It was attached to an existing flashlight for my Loco Pocos avatar and it looks freaking awesome! Enjoy this long video of different locations in pitch black ^^

  • If only I had a alienware-m11 :(

  • @darkviper016129 I only had an nvidia 8900 when I did this :)

  • Insane! Is this an update for sl? Or something you did yourself?

  • This will be part of SL in the future, it's a patch that's still considered Alpha stage.

  • yeah I actually wanted the flashlight to move around a bit. This was just a demo though :) I wouldn't shoot an actual movie that way :P

  • oh wow, reminds me of Silent Hill or something, looks really great. I love realistic shadow casting. Only trouble is the walking animation, making the light wiggle all over the place.
