  • My own experience: I started out going to one room schools. Later in life I was a teacher. I have to say that one room schools may have been actually the best kind of education I ever had. I got to watch the older kids being taught stuff, and I learned some stuff ahead of time and was very motivated to learn it when my time came, as well as learn about stuff on my own.

  • Very good video! My grandfather, Dr. Bird Thomas Baldwin often visited small schools like this in the course of his research as first Director of the Iowa Child Welfare Research Station back in the 1920's.
