  • A First!

A Model T passing Model As!

  • @onmilo: Nope... It's a 1929 Model A pickup... It's in some of my other videos, like "How to make hubcaps for a 1928-29 Model A Ford" that I posted before this one.

  • What was the top speed of a Model A when they were new? About 60mph?

  • @scarlebloke: The speedometer goes up to 80mph, but they'll go about 50-55mph. That's really puching them. their sweet spot is around 40-45mph, and that's what we drive them on these tours. You can get more out of the 40 hp engines with high-compression heads, modern transmissions or overdrives installed, and higher ratio gears in the rear-end. I have a 1930 sedan that I've had 75mph going downhill with a tail-wind! It vibrated a lot when I did that!
