i have a close friend who came to america from Burundi a couple years ago, and i constantly beg her to speak in Kirundi! i think it's beautiful. she's teaching me bits here and there. i just love it. urakoze cane!

Their songs bring back sooo many good memories. I'm really proud of the "older" girl for correcting the younger ones. Once she corrected them they got it down pat. Komeza rero gutyo sha mami. Uraduteye iteka.

@ those asking if I adopted these children, no I didn't. I volunteered with this refugee family when they first came to the US from a refugee camp in Tanzania. I continue to visit with them to this day. They are like my second family!
