  • I honestly dont think Simon Belmont is a great fit in Smash Bros (no offense). Also, Konami already has Snake, and I dont think its fair to give Konami two characters in the same game without giving the other third party franchises a second character (which Nintendo wont do because then there would be too many third party characters).

The way I see it, you can have either Snake or Simon Belmont, but not both.

  • @DarthMario99

Really? He seemed MORE fitting than Snake to me...

I know it seems unfair to have two Konami characters, but...they have two really great mascot series (Metal Gear and Castlevania). My justification is that Konami was the first third-party company to sign on to a Smash Bros. game.

  • Actually, if truth be known, I dont think Snake is a great fit for Smash Bros either. The only reason Snake was in Brawl was because Metal Gear's creator "practically begged" Sakurai to put him in the game.

Dont get me wrong, I like the way they represented Snake in Brawl. I just dont think he or Simon Belmont fit very well into the world of Nintendo, unlike Sonic and Mega Man.

  • @DarthMario99

True, it does seem odd at first, but Metal Gear, one of the biggest video game franchises now, started it's initial series on the NES, like Castlevania. So, although they seem like more..."serious" characters, maybe, they do fit as Nintendo all-stars, even if they don't fit with the environment.

  • why is it called holy water if it makes fire

  • @Gamerman9000

    Holy water burns the undead.

  • B Holy Water. Throwable like Snake's Grenade.

    B^ Tether Grab. Like Olimar's B^

    Bv Throwing Axe.

    B> Cross Boomerang.

    Makes more sense to me.

  • @pizzadudemanguy I think Simon should be there instead of Snake because he is like Mega Man, his first game was on the NES through Wii, and Snake...Um... well Game Boy?

  • When I fantasize about his moveset I always see his Neutral B-Dagger Side B-Cross Up B-Axe Down B-Holy water and his air grab acts like a tether recovery. Also, I do see his final smash being The grand cross item crash, but acts as if Richter or Alucards' does in Symphony of the night. I also believe Simon to be a really great character for SSB franchise, being a 2-bit hero in my eyes. BTW, I would like to see his Castlevania Chronicles look more than his Retro barbarian one anyday, any where.

  • @pizzadudemanguy

there was also a Castlevania game for the '64.Wait.....but what if the Holy Water hits a 'holy' Smasher, like Pit?would it do nothing? And if it hits an evil character like Ganondorf?Would it be more devastating?....I think too much.

  • check out ssb4 possibilties 6 simon belmont

  • Yeah, you do have to take that into consideration, but something just doesn't seem right to me about those two characters. Oh well, everyone has their different opinion. I'll try to explain my reasoning a bit better when I make my own SSB4 vids.

Generally, I think your roster is incredible, and your inclusion of Simon Belmont is one of only a few problems I have with it. Man, I tell you, you are tough to argue against! :-)
