The mid 80s car commercials were the sports cars golden era with the supra, iroc, mustang, 300z, and trans ams..those days are gone forever..

Then you can dumb things such as blind spot detection systems that ARE necessary because cars now are fucking huge with very narrow windows and blind spots galore. Not to mention you cant find a car under 3000lbs B/C of all the useless shit they put on it.
Nobody likes cars or driving anymore, it's just a chore to most people. Lets us reserve and enjoy what few REAL cars that are left.

Cars (and car commercials) of that era were about DRIVING, and the enjoyment of the automobile. Now, it's about how to make you car feel more like your living room. New cars also have aids to make stupid drivers more stupid (back-up sensors, brake override, traction control, eta). Other things just kill the driving experience (drive by wire, steer by wire, more USB connections then a desktop PC, eta).
