  • Yep, actually win-win situation exists. That is why we need more environmental scientists/engineers rather than so-called environmentalists.

  • then they should grow crops more suited to the type of soil..

  • The thing is, it doesn't have to be a win-lose situation. methods exist, where both nature, and the poor workers in the area can Both profit. things like wild-crafted herbs, and shade-grown coffee.

You don't have to destroy the earth's bio-diversity to employ peoples and make a profit.

In fact, it worked correctly, there is potential for even greater profit (on all sides) if all sides and conditions are considered, and creativity and empathy utilized.

  • they use4 chem fertilisers cause thier soil is unsuited to grow soya

  • where is the rest of the documentary!!!!!?????

  • how selfish that one could think of himself more than the welfare of the world! have we not learned anything from the development patterns of europe and u.s.a.? while their agricultural practice brought them big bucks, it had also brought them environmental destruction-soil contamination due to chemicals, siltation due to extensive farming, desertification, loss of habitat, and many other things which were irreversible and irreparable.. greediness will get us nowhere..

  • it is so appalling how an agriculture businessman could be so insensitive to the environment of his own country. why is he comparing amazon's soil to europe's soil? of course there is a whale of a difference between the two.. it is precisely because of amazon's richness (both as a resource for its people and the world) that it should be saved. and why on earth is he using commercial fertilizer and chemicals on the soil to hasten productivity?

  • The Amazon is larger than Europe, if 1/3 of the Amazon rain forest is under control of the government and is reserved for use by the tribesmen and if they also have access to water then the environmentalists are wrong to deny the people of Brazil a chance at health and prosperity. Likewise the tribesmen could also benefit from access to medicine that they would not have otherwise.
