The 47th PA Regimental Band and the 1st U.S. Artillery, Battery B Band join forces to play Battle Hymn of the Republic for the annual Ft. Zachary Taylor Civil War Days on 26-28 February 2010. The parade traveled down half of Duvall Street and reenacted to entrance of Union troops into Ft Taylor in 1861. The 47th PA Band served as mentors to the newly formed 1st Artillery Band, which was made up of Key West High School students. The bands managed to perform together by extending the Civil War era instrument tuning slides as far as they would go and pushing in the the modern instrument tuning slides all the way in. After a few run throughs the sound was pretty acceptable.
