Introducing new MacBook Pro.
Innovation runs in the family.
Aluminum unibody enclosure, advanced longer-lasting battery, enhanced LED-backlit display.
MacBook Pro has been precision engineered down to the smallest detail.

The new MacBook Pro family has a breakthrough battery that runs for up to 7 hours on a single charge (8 hours on the 17-inch MacBook Pro). And thanks to advanced chemistry and an innovative new charging method, it can be recharged up to 1000 times — nearly three times the lifespan of typical notebook batteries. All in a notebook thats as thin and light as ever.

A giant leap for batteries.
The longest-lasting Mac notebook battery ever. Now part of the entire MacBook Pro family.

The longest-lasting Mac notebook battery ever.
Built right into each of the new MacBook Pro notebooks is a breakthrough battery that lasts dramatically longer and does so without increasing the size or weight of MacBook Pro. On a single charge, the battery in the new MacBook Pro lasts up to 7 hours (8 hours on the 17-inch MacBook Pro) and can be recharged up to 1000 times. Thats compared with only 200 to 300 times for typical notebooks. Advanced chemistry and Adaptive Charging allows the battery to maintain charging capabilities longer and determines the optimal way to charge the batterys cells. Because the battery lasts up to five years, MacBook Pro uses just one battery in the same time a typical notebook uses three. That makes for less waste. And sure that, in turn, makes for one environmentally friendly battery.

  • The Mac book pro is good

    ^^

  • When the battery goes, you just open up the computer and replace it. The only thing they did was remove the parts that allow the battery to be removed without opening the computer. So now changing a battery takes 20 minutes instead of 1 minute. As someone who has owned both the old and new macbook pros, I can say that it is a small price to pay. These batteries are amazing!

  • I freaking love my Mac ! ;D

  • @Hassasin195 Just to continue XD, It has 2 drive bays, so I have the stock 750 for storage, and the SSD for boot/apps. The only thing I don't like about it is the battery life, but I knew it wouldn't be good with a core i7 and a gtx460m. the rubberized finish is awesome as well. 1080p 15in screen is glorious, pixel density is crazy good, better than I have seen on any laptop. The keyboard also has a number pad, which is really useful. And it's not multilingual, so it's perfect.

  • @LiberateBand

Keyboard is pretty much as good as I can expect from a laptop (apparently it has won design awards), trackpad is the first I have actually liked. It's a direct touch (not covered in plastic or some crappy texture) and very responsive. it has scrolling like an ipod, which is nice (swirl around in a circle to scroll). Windows 7 on the SSD I installed is fast as hell, and have no lag in anything I do. It runs quiet and cool, the cooling system is a gem. <3 it

  • @Hassasin195 Gaming laptops are usually so obtuse in every way besides chip set spec. How's your keyboard, trackpad, OS treating you? To name but a few.

  • I wish this was true, my 13 inch Mac book pro runs out of battery in 3hrs and I just got it a month ago

  • This is complete brainwashing, whoever knows something about batteries can tell that if these guys really know what they are talking about, they are lying and being very well paid for it.

  • @astralacuity

I can actually stand behind an asus now, as I have actually bought one. The G53J. I cannot stress enough the attention to detail and the quality of the components inside. I have used my cousin's macbook many times, and it is a fantastic machine, but the asus does not fall short in any category (relatively) when compared to the apple macbook. I mean my laptop's internals are better (core i7, gtx460m), but I trade off for battery life. Asus in my opinion, is on par with mac.

  • @Hassasin195 Asus are the non-mac computers that come closest to the quality of apple's products, but of course they do not reach it.

  • HAHA mister battery technician was wrong. Battery life is not about how much energy you store in a computer, but the amount of charge you move through it. hehe... our computers don't run off of singular capacitors XD

  • If those batteries were color brown they look like chocolates!! :D
