Russ Baker this guy is one of my heros. Family of Secrets was such an amazing read, no one has ever given the connection between Bush, de'Mohrenscheildt, CIA, FBI, big oil, power politics and so forth such a level-headed and insanely well-sourced treatment. Not a single typo either. The links he draws between ... well, read the book, hopefully more than once.

I commend the book in the face of powerful skeptics. I always believed that the Iran/Contra Scandal were the doings of George H.W. Bush because if they had been the doings of Ronald Reagan, it would have been Reagan who pardoned the major players who were convicted of federal crimes in the case. Instead it was the true mastermind, H.W., on his way out of office. His son’s lies that resulted in the deaths of our children in Iraq only goes to prove that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

About Nixon's achievements - It does seem that Republican Presidents in their 2nd term support things that some Democratic Presidents have because they know that's what they have to do to be considered a great President. Meanwhile, the Democrats can't achieve these things while they are in power because they are considered too radical. I heard JFK wanted to recognize Red China in his 2nd term & said he would probably be villified as soft on Communism but Nixon did it & got away with it.

I must comment that I find it hard to believe that Nixon knew nothing about the Watergate breakin and that it was a set up. I will have to review the history that I have and see what he openly said as to this matter. Also, the elite powers must have been happy with Nixon taking forever to end the Vietnam War and even extend it into Cambodia.
